As per the kids request(which was a little bit of a surprise) they chose to go to the art museum today.  (And here I thought I was torturing them with all the art museums I've drug them to in the past...)We caught the Phlash Trolley after having breakfast at the Creparie.  YUM YUM YUM.  They make the crepes right in front of you.  We opted for the berry and cheesecake crepe and the bacon and eggs crepe.  So good!  The meal was with us all day.  Favorite breakfast at the Reading by far.

The Museum was impressive.  Architecturally beautiful, and the stairways so inviting the kids only opted for the elevator once.  The museum had an extensive collection of medieval armor and weapons . My youngest really loved that.  We went through the display twice.  Another favorite was the period rooms- The museums web site best explains them as ,

"renowned period rooms and architectural settings recreate environments spanning from the twelfth to the twentieth centuries. From a peaceful Medieval cloister to an opulent French grand salon, from a Chinese scholar’s study to an eighteenth-century rural Pennsylvania kitchen, these evocative spaces allow visitors to fully realize what it means to “walk through time.”

Well, we loved them!  The museum staff was really helpful and friendly.  When the kids got to close to a display or reached up to admire a painting with there fingers, they were reminded very politely not to touch.  My oldest loved the Edgar Degas painting "Dance Class", and they were both fascinated by observing Monets paintings up close then far away.  They took turns choosing what room we went into next.  This seemed to help eliminate the problem of them feeling drug around the museum.  We stopped by the museum store on our way out and the kids picked out a magnet of one of the paintings they saw that day for our magnet collection at home.  We walked down the famed front steps of the Museum and spotted the Rocky statue.  We took pictures and made our way to Boat House Row before catching the Phlash back downtown.  We ended our day at the Reading for dinner-Flafel Pita and fresh strawberry, kiwi, papaya juice for me.   YUM! and a  Carmen's Hoagie for the kids.  Baklava for dessert.  A yummy way to end the day.
