After a very busy and wet first week in London, we left the hussle and bussle and headed for the Cotswolds. We arrived to a very sunny day, and a very confused taxi driver who finally found Helen's house, even after we told him it was the oldest house in the village and had a thatched roof, well that just made the situation worse as there are alot of old houses with thatched roofs. We were made to feel very welcome with a nice cold glass on NZ Sav and a sunny day, what more could you want.

Helen has been very generous to us, and lent us a car so we could see some of this beautiful country. From Helen's we explored most of the greater Cotswold villages which were so old and quaint they looked like a film set. The distances between places aren't that big so it is very easy to get around and see alot in just a day. In one day trip we visited Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Burton-on-the-Water. Another we went to the beautiful Bath, which is home to an old Roman Spa.

A trip to the country is not complete without visiting the many english pubs, they are very traditional and serve good old home cooking. They really are a nice sight at this time of year with their colourful hanging flower baskets out front. Of course visiting so many has not helped our waist lines.
