We woke up rested in Munich and ready for a full day of travel to 3 more cities in Germany. We forgot to tell you how much we like travleing on trains over here.  There are comfy seats that recline, even in second class for poor people like us! First stop on the train was Heidelburg, as many tour books described as "picture pefect" and is known as one of the oldest inhabited cities in Europe.

Once off at the train station, we were lucky enough to find yet another friendly local, this time by the name of Domonique. He took us into the city center( which Sarah and I agreed we would have not been able to do on our own) and then he departed for work.  We were pleased to see the abundance of pubs (or Hofbrahuases) and also bakeries in this beautiful city located on the Necktar River.   Sarah was busy looking for Coo Koo Clocks, since she has reminded me ever since the start of our journey that the edge of the Black Forest in Germany is known for it's production of these clocks.  I, however reminded Sarah that Germany is also known for it's production of strudel and was on a mission of my own.  Sarah found her Clocks and I found my Strudel a few minutes after arriving so we both were happy.  We wished Domonique could have been with us longer, however, becuase we needed an extra person to take photos of us after we realized the "self portrait photography" is not the best option for us.

We were able to spend two hours in the life of luxury- Carcalla is a facility with seven different pools, each one a different temperature.

We left Heidelberg and headed to our next stop, Baden Baden.  Known for it's wealth and bath houses, Baden Baden is frequently visited by celebrities and the rich and famous.  Being neither, we still felt necessary to indulge in a couple hours of heaven in a spa called the Carcalla.  For €11, we were able to spend two hours in the life of luxury.  Carcalla is a facility with seven different pools, each one a different temperature ( ranging from 60- 110 degrees).  Each one also a different style of pool such as a whirlpool, grotto, hot tubs, mineral baths and more.  We especially enjoyed the Eucalyptus Sauna. We need not say any more.

After sitting under a heatlamp  we figured our time was up and needed to get ready for our last leg of our journey to Cologne.  It's a good thing that I pulled Sarah from the heat lamp becuase otherwise we would have been stuck in Baden Baden for the night due to missing the last train. ( We forgot to check the train times home). So, once again, we ran for our lives with about 80 pounds on our back towards the departing train- very funny sight and the best way to show that you're NOT a local.  Regardless, we made it safe and sound and even had time to grab a pastry and play our favorite German game, "Guess What's Inside the Pastry". Since neither of us know German and it's all written in German it makes deciding what to eat a bit like Russian Roulette.    Mine had spinach and cheese, Sarah's had peppers and cheese. YUMMY.

Arrived in Cologne at our hostel safely and in time for bed, around midnight.  We're up now and off to tour Brussels, where I am trying to convince Sarah to eat chocolate and drink beer all day, since that's what Belgium is known for.  Somehow, I don't think she will need too much convincing.

Ta For now,

Talk soon,

xoxoxo

Wow, your travels sound amazing! I couldn't help but be extra jealous of your time at the spa in Baden Baden. I live in Canada and am an avid spa-goer in Toronto. If you ever decide to visit a spa in North America visit www.WaySpa.com. The site allows you to view spas all over North America and book in with them. I use it all the time. So if you're ever in the area, check it out, ENJOY your travels!

Sarah's horoscope, kinda boring today :P CANCER - You won't get an award for the kind of work you're doing. Oh, the frustration, the hours spent! If you can locate the internal rewards it bring you - like meaning and purpose - you're fortified. Onward!
