Anywhere where they have horses, dairy cattle, and chickens in their backyards is my kind of place.  But, that sounds kind of redneckish, right?  Everything in Interlaken is absolutley perfect, from their gardens to the way they stack their firewood, perfect.

I was trying to find my way to Interlaken Ost train station one morning and found myself lost, per usual,  when I came across a huge field with probably twenty or so individual gardens.  A lady and her dog came speed walking by me and I asked her how to get to the train station.  Turns out, she was heading that way, so I jogged beside her as she walked me in the appropriate direction.  She also informed me that the gardens are for the homeless in the area, that they can either grow their food on communal property or a volunteer will the tend the gardens and then give away the food.  So, apparently being homeless in Interlaken has its perks, not only do have the most beautiful scenery in the world, you get your own plot of land.  I'm moving asap.
