We had about a week of time to spend between Kansas City and Arlington, TX until the Rangers were back in town.  Anyone want to venture a guess what state is between those two places?  Go ahead… look at a map.  Yes, that’s right: Oklahoma.  But Arkansas is not far, and they DO call it “The Natural State” so we figured we’d check that out.  We spent a few days in the Buffalo National River area hiking to caves and old mines, swimming in the river, and relaxing.  We spent a day in the Mountain View, the “Folk Music Capital of the World,” and then a day in Little Rock.  It was really really hot and humid… so much so that Maggie actually conceded that maybe there IS some truth to the conventional wisdom about “dry heat” that she spent so long making fun of earlier on the trip.
