Mysore is beautiful, a lot of gardens and palaces to entertain everyone! The hotel scene could be upgraded but ok... The Sri Harsha street, where a lot of the closest to the Maharaja's palace accomodation is, has some ok choices. But watch out, Maurya Palace which on the internet looks really good (and on the LP does too) had a huge cockroach in the bathroom just when we were seing the room before accepting it... We ran away like hell!

The Maharaja's Palace is the main attraction here and is really worth a visit. This habit of charging foreigners more than indians is irritating though.. The differenc can be several folds (in this case 5X). And using your camara was forbidden but indian folk sure don't give a damm about these regulations so, we decided to play along...

In the end of the day we went to a pizza joint and ended up meeting an indian who worked there. Ravi was his name.

He was very open to foreigners, and wanted to know things from back home especially to learn some phrases in portuguese. I got to learn some sentences in Kanada (the main language in Karnataka) and he even wrote me out the full symbols list (wow, really comlicated this language for a westerner). Ravi also told us his story (here in India it is hard to find someone without one), his sister was my age (24) and already was a widower with 3 children and to make things worse she could only remarry in 17 years! Here we saw the traditional side of India that doesn't look too bright, particularly for women.

The nxt day we headed to bangalore, tried to get a train but couldn't so ended up in our old friendly State bus... Trying to get the autorickshaw people to use the meter is a real challenge that requires everybit of your witts and a bit of tough negotiation. Thank god the station had a pre-paid booth!
