Chicago meant a few things to us: visiting with family, seeing multiple baseball games, and getting some culture.  We were pretty successful on all fronts.

Our uncle Lindsay and our cousins Melissa, Conor, and Casey live in Chicago, so we were able to spend time with them (except Conor, who was away).  It's been many years since we were together, so it was great to catch up.

We also had two baseball games: one at Wrigley (Cubs) and one at US Cellular (White Sox).  To be honest, Wrigley didn't quite live up to the hype.  It is awesome...old and charming...but a lot of other parks have charm and we were raised at Fenway, so old isn't novel.  But we were sleepy and hot, so it could just have been us.  The Cell is new, but not retro-new, so it got a bad rap.  We think it has too much sprawl in the box seats, but otherwise it's a nice park.  They just added a beautiful roof on the top deck and that certainly helped the appearance.

On our last day in Chicago we went to the Chicago History Museum and went on a walking tour of historical skyscrapers.  Both were well worth the time and money - they were interesting, stimulating, and fun (and too short...we could have spent hours more).
