Adelaide is so far the smallest city we have been to. I’m pretty sure Bolton is bigger in size. Well, we weren’t too sure what to do or see in Adelaide, so we thought the best way to see the city was after a few beers (Beer Buzz!). It made it more interesting! We walked around a bit and went to Chinatown which was…. erm the better word would be crap!! There’s not really much to see in Adelaide and it was tight arse Tuesday, yes, that’s what its official name is, which in Oz means it’s half price cinema tickets so we went to watch Transformers as we had covered most of the city in the free tourist bus they provide, just like they do in Melbourne (except Melbourne’s way better!) I’m sure there are more things to do in Adelaide but after having a few, well may be more than a few beers we got a bit bored. We booked Florence in for a service on the Friday and took off to the Barossa Valley to do some wine-tasting as we couldn’t face waiting that time in Adelaide!

We luckily stayed in a campsite within a five kilometre radius of lots of wineries which meant we could walk rather than drive or do the tour. Anyway, first stop was the Jacob’s Creek winery where we tasted practically the whole wine menu before deciding it was all yuk! There, we were also informed a cyclone was headed towards the Barossa Valley which was great news…I’m sure cyclones follow us (Fiji, New South Wales…will it ever end?!) Anyway, we soon moved on to two other wineries and enjoyed yet more wine there. Having had a veritable few and with the cyclone closing in, we decided to hitch a lift the 5kms home. I assessed the risk and decided it was relatively safe…Mum, don’t judge, you did it in the 60s!! Anyway, it was safe and we caught a lift with an Aussie guy who was fine. The next day we walked another few kilometres and visited some more wineries, tasting as we went. We ended up buying a cheap case of white and getting a lift home with one of the guys working at the winery. We were also given a good few free glasses of vintage red while we waited for him to finish up, it was great! Florence is now fully stocked, we may even have some left when we get back to Sydney Sarah and Miles! Don’t hold your breath though!
