We spent the last day in Trondheim visiting the family business. Ole (Lisa's cousin) and his father (Artur) sold the general store and purchased a tugboat company consisting of 5 tugboats. They languished until a large ship, (the Coastal Steamer) ran aground in 1993. The Captain took a wrong turn when a channel beacon wasn't working and the the ship ran aground. The small company was called because they were close and available. They patched a 3 meter square hole and pumped the holds dry. Then they pulled the ship off the rocks at high tide with 3 tugs and were handsomely rewarded. Right time at the right place. The rest is history.

The BOA Group (Bjornevik Ole Artur) now consists of over forty vessels and 400 employees that  perform salvage, construction, transport and deep sea moorage all over the world. The "fleet" consists of specialized ships as well as submersible barges. One of the more notable projects was the transport of former CCCP submarines to the scrap yard following the end of the cold war. Additionally, they hold the world record for deep sea moorage at over 1800 meters.

We then went to another family members business. Anna Ma has a wonderful boutique in the historic section of town that carries upscale womens wear.

Food of the Day: We joined the employees of the company to enjoy a traditional Norwegian snack of waffles and jam during the afternoon coffee break.
