So, it’s been a while since I updated my blog about what is going on in my life, well the truth is for the last month I’ve been working at COP no more than 30 hours a week and I’ve been a couch potato watching Everybody Loves Raymond, for a while I kind of made it my routine, get up eat breakfast and turn on the TV in search for that TV show. So yep it’s just been pure laziness that I haven’t updated my blog, there you go I admitted it.

Well good things have happened but also bad things have happened over the last couple months. Firstly, I have moved out, into another unit with 3 other guys, these are guys that I have known before, 2 guys I went to Vegas with and Duncan is the third, never really spoke to him over winter but he is quite a cool guy. Tell you what though it’s been heaven moving in with Duncan because he has got literally every kitchen utensil imaginable, even a potato masher, now I don’t have to use a fork to mash my potatoes. We’ve also got a big screen TV, well not huge but compared to the other one this one is pretty darn big and it’s hooked up to a DVD player and a sound system….aaahhahhh luxury again. I forgot what that actually felt like.

On the very first day I moved in I decided to lounge around on the couch then there was a knock on the front door and I got up all excited to find out who our first visitor maybe and as I swung the door open to reveal the identity of the person. “Jimmy” I choked, I was surprised in disbelief. I was living in peace for a couple months and now my old roommate is back to haunt the shit out of me. But luckily he said “I’m staying with Matt”(one of the aussies that lives a few doors down). I took a deep breather in relief. Jimmy said he was only staying for “a couple of days”. 3 weeks later, he was still walking around campus residence hanging around like a bad smell. But he was finally kicked out when Matt had enough and kicked him out. So then he just vanished without a word of goodbye.

Secondly while getting into the routine of being a couch potato one day, Matt(another aussie that headed of to Europe) came over and was randomly talking about a guy he met while downtown shopping in a hiking store who offered him a job repairing windshields on cars and he said you could be earning anywhere between $100 - $160 a day. So then a light bulb flicked on above in my head and I got the number off Matt. I called the company up and teed up a meeting and I was pretty much hired on the spot. I’ve only been working for 2 weeks but it’s been pretty good, all I do is set up a tent outdoors in the carpark of some malls and wait for customers who need their windshield repaired. I’m actually glad to be outdoors working in the sun after all the indoor misery from the winter.

On a more negative note, getting this job has put my accommodation at Mount Royal College in jeopardy, because COP wants us to work full time hours in order to remain living at MRC. Chris (my roommate), is also in the same boat as me. Once we said we can’t work fulltime, we were ordered to leave Mount Royal in 24 hours. Part-time work was not an option. So, we’ve been treated like criminals and kicked out and left on the street to become homeless hobos. So the first thing Chris and I did was go to the closest mall to get our room keys cut before handing them back in. Seeing as though Garth and Duncan are still legitimately living at MRC, we figured we have at least a couple weeks to figure out our accommodation before we really become homeless hobos. Well it’s all apart of traveling I guess, at times like these we can only throw in some humor so Chris and I have officially named ourselves H1 and H2 – Homeless Hobo 1 and Homeless Hobo 2. So the next time I write hopefully I have some good to report that will prevail from all this drama. .
