Back in London for a couple of days. Nice to be back. On Wednesday we went to the National Gallery in Trafalger Square. An amazing place full of incredible art including Van Gogh's Sunflowers as well as Manet's, Monet's, Gaugin's and many other notables. Didn't get to see it all but what we did see was mind blowing. Also went to the National Potrait Gallery. In the afternoon Tony went to brother Craig's house in leafy Chiselhurst to meet new nephew Finlay and see Jo again. Finlay is a happy little boy with lot's of toys. No photos unfortunately as camera battery went flat. Went to a pub for a quiet Guiness with Craig and then spent 2 hours by train, underground and bus to get back to Hackney. Lou and Lorraine meanwhile spent an afternoon in London having a nice afternoon tea at Cafe Valerie where ladies from London who lunch go.

Thursday morning was laundry time and after that we set out for Buckinham Palace and as luck would have it we chanced upon the changing of the guard. Lots of people watching. A lot of ceremony involved. In parts of the ceremony while waiting the band would play. Rather funny to hear Thriller being done by a brass band in the grounds of Buck House. Liz was home but didn't invite us in!!! Then we got the tube to Camden to see the markets. Lot's of stalls selling T shirts, shoes, goth gear. Quite overwhleming. Tony bought a cd. Funny that. The lock in Camden Town is interesting and you can do canal cruises but only on the weekend. Then it was back to Oxford St for Tony to buy some shoes (Vans-funny that!!) and back to Hackney for a rest.
