After the Blue Mountains we intended to head up the east coast to Brisbane. However, to do this we had to go via Sydney. Since we had a recieved a free day pass for Sydney city transport as part of our New South Wales pass, was decided to spend a couple of nights and have a day further exploring the city.

In the morning we headed for Circular Quay near to the Opera House. From there we caught a ferry out to the Coastal suburb of Manly. Whilst there we had some lunch as well as a stroll along the beach. We also saw an Eastern Water Dragon (a big lizard) lazing on the rocks near the beach.

In the afternoon we went on the ferry (via Circular Quay again) to Kirribilli on the north side of the harbour, where the Prime Minister resides. From here we got a great view back over to the Opera House and city. We walked along the harbour edge, under the Harbour Bridge, to North Sydney. We caught a train back to the centre and then went to Botanical Gardens to relax for an hour before tea.  In the evening we strolled back through the city towards our hostel.

We both really like Sydney, and I wouldn't rule out us spending more time here in a couple of weeks beofore we fly out to Perth.
