The Urinals are always in full view of the public. That way you can find them and smell them a lot better.

Paul and I woke up late in the morning and went for breakfast at a nearby “Western” restaurant called Amazon with our new Aussie friend/roommate Tom. We then set out to see the Kinkakuji Temple also known as The Golden Pavilion. The Building consists of 3 types of architecture. The first level is of palace style, the second is the style of samurai house and the third level is Zen temple style. Only the second and third floors are covered with gold-leaf on Japanese Lacquer. It was beautiful.

Our next stop was Ryoanji Garden, famous for its rock garden. When we got to the entrance, we realized that we didn’t have enough money to get in so we walked around the neighbourhood in search of a bank machine that was compatible with our cards. We had no luck and bussed back to a busier street. We had dinner at Sukiya and browsed around the shopping district. We ended up buying a lot of tasty pastries. Afterwards we headed back to the hostel.
