Monterey and its surrounding cities(Carmel, Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach) are a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. There are rocky coastlines and sandy beaches to explore as far as the eye can see.
Attractions like the Monterey Bay Aquarium (one of the largest and most impressive aquariums in the world), Cannery Row(where restaurants and sea lion habitats can be found) and 17 Mile Scenic Drive (past Big Sur and the Pebble Beach golf area) offer some great coastal sightseeing.
Scuba divers, kayakers and swimmers come for the calm oceanic waters, and children can be found playing in the sand throughout the summer vacation months.
