As Mr Murphy said, things go wrong at the worst possible time. The only day we four missed our morning alarms was the day we had the most hectic schedule. The day started at 11, not at 8 as planned.

First stop--Hoover Dam, an engineering as well as architectural marvel, a delight for both Ekta and me. Even though the temperature crossed 100 and we scorched in the sun, we kept on progressing towards this marvel. A feat that made life in the middle of a desert possible. We spent much more time than we planned and that left little time for the only true natural marvel, Grand Canyon.

Another 3 hours of drive beyond Hoover and we were in Grand Canyon National park. The canyon itself was just imagination defying, a massive piece of art carved out by a river which looked like a tiny string in the distance. We didint have time to trek down, or even have a short trek to enjoy the site, but we did see a romantic sunset. Really a pretty sight! For ekta, it was just sheer mass of massive scale, quite spooky in the moonlight. And then after taking a long round trip by bus and grabbing a desperately needed but not too great dinner, we headed back to Vegas. We had seen too much in the past 3 days, yosemite, vegas, hoover and the canyon - finally it was time to rest our eyes.
