We arrived at Zurich airport and immediately took a train down to Interlaken, our first stop. The train was really punctual!

Interlaken was so picturesque. Jungfraujoch was definitely worth going, the highest point to be . We were delighted by the snowy top and the massive shopping and eateries up at the moutains. Fabulous engineering work! You must have noticed the iconic sphinx. The mountain station of Jungfraubabn is located at 3,454 metres and is the higest railway station in Europe.Hence it is called the "Top of Europe".

The ice palace was something new although it could have been better. We were definitely fascinated by the train ride as well as the snow! However we could not stay for long as we still had to catch a train to Zermatt which took more than 3 hours.

We arrived rather late in Zermatt. It was a nice town with many shops. The owner of the hotel actually left us a note on the door and left the doors opened! That was an eye opener. We went in but we faced a blackout. Hence we called him to fix it while we had our KFC dinner out at the balcony. The houses there all had balcony. We could see the Matterhorn from our window.

The next day we went up to Matterhorn. It was so cold! It was drizzling and we went running from one cable station to the other as it was freezing cold. Luckily we brought our hot thermal flasks along and we could have the hot drinks to keep us warm. Nonetheless we really enjoyed the snow up there. The glacier palace was not as fantastic as we thought but the journey there was more exciting as we need to brace against the strong wind and the snow!

After we gone back to the nice hotel, we cooked our own dinner of maggie mee and stuff. It was lots of fun as the kitchen was fully equipped. We also went shopping to stock up for the next day Glacier Express to St Moritz.
