We woke up to the sound of nothingness. No cars and no crowds. We caught the "bus" (a water bus) and ventured off to St. Marcos Square where we visited the Duomo. Entrance is free but individual rooms to see certain things like jewels come with a price we weren't willing to pay. We took the life to the top of the tower, which is worth the small price. The view overlooks everything and you can see the canals between the buildings. It was a unique view to say the least. Beware of the bells at the top - they are extremely loud.

We managed to find some other backpackers to split the cost of a gondola ride and had an aweome time going through the large and small canals of the city.

We walked around a bit, visited a few shops, and just absorbed the unique and quaint city.

We decided to look into our next day's train times and realized we could leave that evening - so we did. We ran to our hostel, grabbed our bags, and caught our train to Bolgona.

Once we got there, it was a different world. Lots of traffic and rain. We walked around looking for a bed and breakfast to no avail. In fact, we accidently buzzed the room of a couple of girls who gladly helped us locate another B&B. We ended up going back to the train station, booking a B&B over the phone, with the help of people from back home, and caught a cab to our destination.

We settled in, went for an authentic dinner and passed out early.
