So today I got to spend most of the day at Sunway Lagoon, one of the water parks here in KL. I went with several families, and of course I spent most of the time there with the youngsters! Actually, several of the "kids" were around 19 years old, so it was nice having some people closer to my age...sort of. :)

What really impressed me about the water park was the look of the place. The whole park was surrounded by really tall trees, which made it feel like we were in the jungle! There was a really tall waterfall that poured into the Lazy River, and each time we floated around the river, we passed underneath it. Boy, was that water chilly!

One of the funny things that happened during the day was that, as we drifted around the Lazy River on our innertubes, we formed a little train by holding on to the handles of one another's tubes, and a couple of the guys pulled us around. A few times there were people latching on to our train that weren't even part of our group - such fun! It was really neat to see so many different people groups interacting in that way - Indian, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian...

There were also two wave pools - one for regular swimmers and one for surfers and boogie boarders. I watched as the wall created a good-sized wave for the surfers to catch...and they really did surf! Sweet!!

After we left Sunway, we went to the nearby mall and ate at Chicken Buffet and watched the ice skaters below. Yep, there's an indoor ice-skating rink inside the mall there!! How cool is that! Then I went and bought a new bandana to replace the one I lost at Sunway. It looks like the Malaysian flag, which I thought would be a nice - and cheap! - souvenir.

So that was my day. I suspect that tonight as I drift off to sleep I'll still feel like I'm floating in the water... :)
