We arrived in Iguazú and started looking for a place to stay, after trying 3 places we decided to go to the 5 star backpackers on the outskirts of town so got a cab for that one!

It looked amazing, a hugh circular pool, floodlit with palm trees hammocks and recliners in front of a massive white openplan dining area and recreational pool tables computers etc we were impressed!

BUT No double rooms so we moved into seperate dorms for the night with air con!!! and had the meal the provided!

We also booked to go the the Argentina side of the Iguazú falls the next day.

In the van we got given a small packed lunch and off we went, the falls entrance is through a jungle / national park and was VERY well organised  which was essential given the 1000´s of people there each day.

We walked around numerous falls each one impressing us until we would turn around and be impressed by yet another, finding a quiet shady with a view for lunch we tried to dry off after being drenched on a jet boat ride which took us closer to the falls than anyone would want to go (THREE times!!!) a new kind of wet but it was boiling hot so welcome relief all the same!

After exploring for a few hours we boarded a small train which took us to the Devils Throat, the jewell of waterfalls with so much noise and water that it was impossible to contemplate, the photos will never to it justice so everyone reading this will have to go there and take a look themselves!!!

Back to the hostel and we decided to move next door to a campsite and give the tent a turn, after busing to town and buying steak we noticed the thunder and lightning and just got the tent up in time before a downpour!  The campsite didn´t sell wood??? but had loads of BBQs, after discussing various ways of cooking steak on a camp stove we were offered wood by some locals and had the nicest steak burgers by the open fire and the rain stopped before we went to bed!

The forecast for the next day was horrible but when we woke it was boiling hot and sunny, the red clay turned to red sticky mud and jumped onto clothing and shoes and us!!! horrible stuff! we bused into town and at 10am saw that the temp was 35 degrees, can´t wait to head back to the swimming pool at the campsite to chill out for the afternoon!!!

The temp got up to 40 degrees and the campsite pool had turned a funny shade of brown with 1000000 kids swiming bathing in it so it was a quick and crowded dip.

Had a nice night exchanging stories with a british couple while eating pasta and realised that we can't take the gas canister on our  flight (it was brand new) oh well!!!

Our transfer to the airport went  smoothly and it  felt  good to leave the red mud behind as we flew to Buenes Aires sad to have missed the Brasilian side of the  falls but very pleased we  made to effert to come get here.
