Yesterday was Kamakura.  One of the ancient capitals of Japan.  Quite littered with temples and shrines - temples are Buddhist and shrines are Shinto.  They mix it up a lot.  Very lovely settings.  I left late afternoon and came here to Hakone.  Hakone is a resort area full of sulfur hot springs.  I am staying at a slightly funky place called the lodge Fujimein. The cheapest place I could find lodge Fujimein. The cheapest place I could find online that has its own onsen. Comes with breakfast which was quite good for about 75 bucks. You get the robe and obi and sleep on a futon which I had to prepare myself. That is why it is relatively cheap. The oldest hotel in Japan is here in Hakone.  There are numerous ways to amuse yourself.  A boat cruise on Lake Ashi.  Cablecars and Ropeways.  Mountains and valley vistas.  And a large number of museums.  Many sporting euro\american stuff like the Lalique museum and the venetian glass museum.  I lucked into three Aussies and we spent the day wandering about.  The one museum we went to is the Hakone open air museum.  This place was cool.  Calder, Henry Moore, Maillol, etc.. Many I was not familiar with . The displays in the outdoors even on a cloudy day was impressive.
