Looking For More Cheap

We actually stayed in Vienna for this night, but we spent all day in Bratislava, exploring what is supposedly the "cheap."  WEll it was very cheap and also did not have a load to see.  We had planned on seeing a lot but everything we went to ended up either not existing or being around one fifth as time consuming as we thought.  We decided to go into the Castle ontop of the highest hill in Bratislava.  It was destroyed by the Germans in WW2 and rebuilt by the Communists afterwards.  so it was quite boring to look at from the outside, although it did look like a proper castle.  Inside was a bit disappointing since the armory exhibit we looked for was not on display at the moment and everything else in the castle was a complete bore - such as 18th century furniture stylings.  So we headed back into town where we had an amazingly cheap garlic soup in a bread bowl and beer.  The soup was great and the beer was to our suprise garbage.  We then decided top see the hockey hall of fame, but when we inquired about it at the tourist office, they had never heard or seen one in town.  So we went to the gardens of a palace in town and then took to the Casino where we won around 1000 crown.  Unfortunately this is not a lot, maybe 24 euros, and we lost it all before we left.  It was a cheap day though so we were not that worried and caught the bus back to the expensive, yet more beautiful Vienna.
