Land of the full moon party (and half moon, black moon, new moon, any moon really).
It has beautiful beaches, great swimming and terrain that is harsh enough to spare the island from being built up into a big city, and therefore also offers lots of secluded spots only reached by water taxi (or a 2 hour mosquito infested jungle trek if you're the Heydenrych's looking for some outdoor activity).
Things we'll always remember:
- Just relaxing - lots and lots of relaxing

Forgettable:
- The mosquitos - lots and lots of mosquitos

Day 57 and 58 - we found ourselves a very basic bungalow on Sunrise Beach and started the relaxing. It's hard to stay on the beach for too long because of the intense heat so we hired ourselves a lilo and chilled in the clear waters instead. Later that day we strolled the streets and besides some good food, didn't do too much else.

We were up early the next day to see the sun rise, which overlapped with a few of the half moon partiers struggling to find their way home. Then we braved the jungle to hike to another beach which we found 2 hours later, had a quick dip and then quite happily paid a water-taxi to take us back. Not surprisingly we didn't see anybody else in the 90 percent humidity hiking from beach to beach.
We finally got to watch 'The Break Up' while eating dinner - thoroughly enjoyed it (the movie and the thai green curry).
