We had an amazing drive to the West coast but the best was yet to come, we stayed in a really nice Youth hostel right on the beach and decided to sleep inside as the rain was virtually horizontal. The West coast is known for it's terrible weather so we were hoping for a ray or two of sunshine to see it ! The next day we struck lucky, we got to see breathtaking views of the coast. Julia got a bit worried about my driving as the views were so distracting.
We went and looked at the pancake rocks, which have been formed somehow, in a way that i have forgotten ,but it was pretty cool. We also ate pancakes at the local cafe which were yummy.
In the clear weather enabled us to see the snow capped southern alps in the distance , so we just decided to go . . .
