From Sara - 18 inches of snow greeted us as we came over the Vail pass in Colorado. Luckily the roads were plowed. Kent thought the snow made a great background for the car. Day one and there are more pictures of the car than me. As we drove to Moab the temps went up and the top came down. We pulled into town late afternoon leaving us enough time to take in the sunset at delicate arch. Shouldn't cell phones be banned from national parks?! You go into nature and there is still someone screaming into their phone. I was tempted to throw it, but stayed on my best behavior. Kent got to break in his new camera taking shots of the arch as the sun went down. I was paranoid about getting back down before the sunset. I am a slightly paranoid person and the thought of getting lost in the dark didn't appeal to me. As usual, Kent was right - we were down way before it became dark.

From Kent - Day two in Arches... Sara made her big souveneir (we don't know how to spell it) purchase. Walking sticks! With great timing, Sara started having knee problems a few weeks before we took off. Feeling 30 years older then her actual age we got the arthritis tyneol and the walking sticks to keep her upright. With perfect blue skies we began the day by hiking to Landscape Arch. With so many beautiful arches this one was truly a masterpiece. In the afternoon we went scrambliing through the Fiery Furnace. Led by a ranger we spent three hours hiking through small crevices, under arches and over slick rock. We finished off the day with a gorgeous sunset.

As usual, Kent was right
