Today I walked briefly along Kaho San Road, visited the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace. I quickly learned the value of putting on the air of being the knowledgeable tourist after almost getting talked into visiting a 'Gem shop" by a few different locals, and being coerced into paying money for birdseed to feed the pigeons!
The temples are huge and absolutely spectacular, although a bit toursity, and the Thai people in general very kind.
