May 30, 2006 (last full day in Greece)

Eric & I decided it was going to be a hotel day & dinner in town. That means we spent the entire morning and afternoon by the pool. We were able to score a cute little cabana. Eric listened to his iPod for the most part. I kept reading my book, Kite Runner. I was committed to finishing it before we left Greece. And I did; after shedding some tears, I finally finished it. Great book!

At one point, I couldn't tell where her body was, relative to her hands & arms.

We also had lunch by the pool and more Cappuccino Freddo. I also made sure I was drinking lots of water so I don't pass out again. Eric was brave enough to dive into the pool. It looked like a lot of fun, but I did not want to cramp my style by shivering out of the pool. I just took pictures of Eric diving/swimming and the relatively small and picturesque beach of Agios Yannis which offers white sands and a collection of small coves catering to the general public. Famous as the location for the award winning motion picture "Shirley Valentine", many appreciate this setting for its calm and relaxed atmosphere.

At 3 PM we were set to go to the Althea Spa. The Althea spa Centre is located close to the beach of Ayios Yiannis and opposite of the sacred island of Delos, one of the sunniest areas in the world. It has been created as a purely sensory experience, using all-natural treatments brought together from the ancient health and beauty traditions of Greece. Eric had the traditional olive oil massage and I had the aromatherapy hot stone massage. We were able to arrange it so that we had our treatments in the same room. As usual, Eric fell asleep and I caught him snoring here & there. Let me just say that the European-style massage technique should be imported to the US. My massage was super amazing. At one point, I couldn't tell where her body was, relative to her hands & arms. She was doing things to my back I had never felt before. I was in heavenly bliss. According to Eric, his masseuse did some move that he'd never had before either. And no, it wasn't a happy ending.

When our spa treatments were done, we went back to the room to get some rest. Then got ready for dinner. We went back to Mykonos Town. We realize that the town hides a lot of surprises. One of these are the settlement of Aleukantras or the Little Venice, people used to call this area which is really unique. It is found to the east side of Mykonos harbour. It begins from the beach of Aleukantras and arrives to the old district of Castle. Little Venice characterize from the intense colours that are dyed the houses. We ate at Niko's Taverna. Eric had prawns the size of my arms. It was huge! After dinner we had dessert and coffee - banana, chocolate & biscuit crepe and my fave, Cappuccino Freddo.

We called it a night since we have to wake up at 5 AM to catch a 7 AM flight back to Athens. I also realize that our vacation is coming to an end. I felt sad for a while and then realized that it was OK. I had the best time. I was actually looking forward to going home.
