Where the hell am I?  Seriously.  I pulled into Nelson and more or less just drove around until I found the iSite here.  iSites are little offices in every city and most towns that are just little information centers, and they're usually pretty good about finding accomodations, giving directions, etc.  Long story short, I wound up at a hostel called the Palace.  It's at the top of a huge hill overlooking a park, and the building is apparently 103 years old, according to the guy at the desk.  It's got fireplaces, wood floors, the whole nine, and for whatever reason, wireless internet too, so I'm rocking out here.

Haven't seen much of Nelson so far, but that seems to be what there is to see in Nelson.  I have two days here in this little castle on the hillside, and then Picton and Welly.  Get the party ready.

P.S.  Pictures from skiing, ice climbing, and the second half of the South Island are up. http://community.webshots.com/user/MarcsWatson

P.P.S.  All Blacks beat Wallabies 32-12 (though I missed most of the game because somebody decided to be a goob and talk on the phone through the whole thing ;-) ), but I got to finally see the Haka from start to finish.  That thing could not be more intense.  It's the traditional Maori war dance, and they do it before every game.  Google it and watch the video.
