Now I was heading for Oklahoma, land of my birth, to see my sister get hitched.  I was not looking forward to getting on another plane having just come back to LA from Hawaii.  But, it would be a shorter flight!

The few days leading up to the big day were good.  I was able to relax and hang with the parents.  The rehearsal dinner was nice and no one got hurt.  The social confrontation of my quiet, small family and the groom's loud, large family was interesting to watch.  But, I think everyone got along just fine.

Saturday the 9th, everyone made there way to the church for the big event.  I arrived in a limo with the groomsmen since I was one of the esteemed ushers.  Not taking my duties lightly, I went over the procedure of seating the guests with my fellow usher and friend John Portman.  The ceremony followed our successful obligation to the couple.  Other than an organist in need of a new set of ears, the ceremony was outstanding.  The reception that followed at the Doubletree hotel downtown was a party not to be missed.  With live music (which was actually really good) and stiff drinks all around, the party went into the wee hours.

After all that excitement, I returned to relaxing and hanging with the folks.  I, also, worked on getting my Mach I road worthy again after having sat in storage for two years or so.  Some new spark wires and some carb tuning was in order.  Soon I was on the street begging for a ticket...
