Yesterday (Saturday) I got up early to go for a walk with one of the moms at a park in Taman Tun, the neighborhood on the other side of 1 Utama. We left my place around 7:30, and by 9:30 we were finished and already sweating. It didn't even seem that hot, but it's just so humid here!
Around 12:30 I rode down with one of the families for a short retreat in Port Dickson. I think there were only six families that came, but I don't think it was supposed to be a large group like many retreats are...

The afternoon session didn't go exactly to plan, but hey, I'm flexible, so it wasn't a big deal. No problem lah... (Check out http://pgoh13.free.fr/article_lah.html to learn about the "lah" and other slang peculiar to Malaysia. But don't feel bad if you can't get the hang of it. Sometimes you've just got to be immersed in it...)
Instead of watching the movie, we fiddled around with the laptop for probably half an hour and then did one of Sunday morning's crafts. I think that actually worked out better, because on Sunday we watched a different movie and did the other planned craft. Only two crafts for Sunday morning wouldn't have taken up all the time we had. So it all worked out!
Saturday night I went with one of the families to an Indian restaurant down the road a bit - the Curry House, I think. It was a bit more spicy than I like, but it wasn't too bad. After we got back, I got to spend a little time on the beach alone. It was so peaceful, with the waves crashing and the sky growing dim as the sun set behind the clouds. Then the stars came out, and Orion was right overhead! I've never seen him so high in the sky, but it is his place, right on the equator...
This morning I got up around 8am, which was quite nice, considering I went to bed around 10pm. It was lovely! After a breakfast of rice, pancakes, fresh fruit, boiled eggs with soy sauce (that's how they "salt" them here!), and hot tea, we had a time of worship, and then I took the kiddos to have our morning session, which went nicely. Soon afterward, we all packed up and headed back to KL!
Overall, it was a great retreat, but I wish I could have stayed longer!
