It already seems like we've been away for months, has it really only been a week?!  New York was really awesome.  Hannah and I arrived on Thursday a bit dazed and dragged our 'essential survival kits' (mine's 30kgs!) to a taxi.  Once at the hostel we both had a bit of a reality check, 5 months suddenly seemed like a really long time so we headed out a had a bleary walk around the streets before getting an embarrassingly early night.  We did see a really tall guy with a sign saying '6ft 7 Jew will rap for you'!  Only in New York!

On Friday we woke up in a really great mood and covered most of the sights.  We did the Empire State Building, Central Park (where I regretfully quizzed Hannah on the coincidental naming of Strawberry Fields and Lennons place of death), Times Square, Trump Tower, Bad Boys Entertainments, The Statue of Liberty (which looked like this - i), Groud Zero and 5th Avenue.  I couldn't help but wonder - la la la.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday were occupied with the likes of Abercrombie and Fitch, Brasserie 8 1/2, Tao, Yellow Cabs, rain and long walks.

We went to the Met on sunday where we saw some stunning art and some severe art fraudidge!  There was one which Hannah entitled 'Dulex Colour Chart' - I don't think I need to explain that one!  And another which was half red, half blue and had a green oval and was named (by the artist himself) 'Blue, Red, Green'.  What a load of Bullshit.  I saw some really cool greek coins, and yes they are cool, and found a new top ten artist, Yves Tanguy - very Dali-esque.

Oh My God!

On Monday night we went to a really nice cocktail bar in Grand Central Station, which is really nice - just in case you're imagining the waiting lounge at Bristol Parkway!  I had a 'Flappers Delight' cocktail which was Champagne, Amaretto and Papaya Juice...mmm.  we were offered glass of champagne by and man and his 'friend', as he "was trying to cut down."  Some people just have too much money.  We obliged and got chatting to them.  When the man went to the restrooms the lady who was pretty drunk told us that they were just friends and never in a million years would they be anything more.  The champagne had clearly had the desired effect though as she didn't stop throwing herself at him, licking his ears and other disgusting things I won't mention.  Arrr, golddiggeres!

Grand Central Station was a little bit too exiting!

After the bar we went to Tao which is the place they have the speed-dating in Hitch.  Very nice food and you may remember a huge Buddah with fish in a pool around it.  It was really stunning but I think the 'check' bought us back to reality a bit.

We left NY the following morning (Tuesday) with our limited edition i HEART NY T-shirts in tow!

I hope you are all a having a really great time.  Keep me posted with what you're up to.
