We are so glad we chose to go all the way to the top, we were thinking of giving it a miss as it was such a long way but two German chaps Hans and Dieter said it was worth the trip and they were right.  It was a lovely sunny day the first we'd had up north and we went to see the Sea's meeting (where the Pacific Ocean meets the Tasman Sea).  There was a lovely little lighthouse and some comedy distance signs that made us realise just how far from home we are and we have some lovely touristy pics (attached).  While we were up that way we went to Te Paki Giant Sand Dunes and went sand surfing which was great fun but really hard work walking up them to the top to surf down (Anthony was much better at it than me, I was hot and bothered and sat at the bottom while Anthony played happily whizzing down on his tummy at silly speeds. (no action pics I'm sorry to say, didn't want to get sand in the camera, did get sand everywhere else).  After duning we went off the beaten track looking for a campsite and finding Spirits Bay (see pics)
