Arrived at 2pm and met up with Petre and Julian at the hostel. They invited me to join them in hiring a car and travelling around to the various place around here.

Went to Peninsula Valdes and joined a boat trip to see the Whales - WOW my pictures don´t do it justice. One whale came right up to the boat (Idid wonder if any boats had been tipped over by the whales as it was so big) it was fantastic to see such a huge mammal so close up. Pity the camera doesn´t take shots immediately but I did the best I could.

We then travelled round to Punta Norte to see the penguins and elephant seals. We had to keep our distance but it was still bril!!!

Travelled to Punta Tombo to see some Magellan Penguins. They were all nesting so there didn´t seem to be many at first but then you could see them nesting under bushes and in wholes in the ground. I never realised they travel up to 800metres away from the sea to lay there eggs!! a long walk for such short legs too.
After that would you believe we went to visit the Welsh town of Gaiman and had the most gorgeous afternoon tea. Proper tea and a selection of cakes - oooh I was stuffed , but they were soooo good, and I think I drank a whole pot of tea to myself.

Went for a walk along the beach. The coastline is so unspoilt, it reminded me a little of Lytham St Anne`s with the sand dunes. There were families out for the day having picnics and groups sipping mate ( the Argentinian herb tea drink that they share, amazing ritual, where they pass it around to the right and all have a drink). It all reminded me of when we went as a family to St Annes in the thirteen seater and dad would take the calor gas and cook us a meal and mum would make tea.
