Sadly but surely I had to leave San Cristobal.
This time I was headed for a deserted beach down in the South Pacific Coast of Mexico. I expected to find no one. Funny enough I found 4 friends from San Cristobal and basically made friends with rest of the people on the beach.
Slept on the beach in a hammock
We climbed up a rocky mountain just in time to catch the sun set. The trek was a little discouraging because of the unforgiving cliffs and huge drop offs. But we had a little stray dog who lead the way without us even asking for help. It was really endearing. Especially when you stopped and doubted ourselves. The dog would be so far ahead and bark at us and then climb all the way back to us to urge of to move along.

The sunset was bloody amazing as you can see from the pictures. The moment we got there, we were left speechless for the hour that the sun retreated into the horizon. We could not careless about the mention of jaguars living close by somewhere.
The sun had set and we decided to return and this time the easy way on a foot path. It a pleasant unexpected surprise to find the night illuminated with little speckles of light. Fireflies!
Spent the night with 6 girls, 2 from Belgium, 2 from Austria and 2 for Germany shared between me and another Quebec-an dude. Lucky us! We spent the night sitting in darkness cos theres hardly any electricity after dark and dranked MEZCAL. Mezcal is a feral drink (well its not that bad) stronger than tequila and is the one with the worm! Locals say if you drink too much you hallucinate and fall into a trance.
Chistrina mentioned about an approaching hurricane leaving the rest of us who slept in hammocks under poor shelter by the beach worried! The sky was filled with grey dark clouds and lightning struck every minute or so. With the pouring rain, every moment felt like my last breath as the wind tormented and taunted us!
But but but. Thank god ...no hurricane...
Mazunte, a beautiful secluded beach with nobody but you. Loved it. But time to go.
