We arrived in Tralee and had a lot of trouble finding Vaughn and Anne, our friends from Townsville for those that don't know them, at first so as is usual we went to the pub for a pint and to think things over. Booked a room in the same pub which had Irish music on that night. Eventually Vaughn rang and we all met at same pub.

Anne and Vaughn took us on a quick tour and we met Annes mum and some other family members which was really good. That night we met up again for the Irish music and another of Annes brothers came as well. After visiting several of the local bars we ended up at one with the best guinness in town and also some local lads with very good voice. There were no instruments, just singing. As soon as one song finished somebody else would start on the next. They were all trditional Irish ballads and very good until they wanted an Australian song. We tried but failed dismally. The whole bar didn't seem to mind and clapped politely. After getting back to our room at about 2 AM drink was the last thing on my mind but we had agreed to meet again at yet another pub to have lunch and watch the county side play Gaelic football so an hour after waking we were both into the guinness again. Carmel is drinking it as well with a dash of blackcurrant.

It didn't even rain

We left Tralee and went to Dingle with Vaughn tagging along as we had to return through Tralee anyway it worked out well. He was our tour guide for the next couple of days and took us to some places we would not otherwise have found.

Once again there was a lot to see and every bit deserved a second look. Ireland is truly a place of great beauty which must be seen to be believed.

Surprised as we were (not really) there was more Irish music at the Dingle pubs so we had no choice but to go and listen. Another late night.

Next day we went to Kilarney for a look and visited Ross Castle which again was very impressive and well worth the time then back to Tralee and dropped Vaughn back to his wife.

A big thankyou to Vaughn, Anne and her whole family. Can you pass that on to those we missed when leaving please Vaughn.
