Took a little bus from San Ignacio to Belize City - almost thought we'd be left behind when the police came along and chucked Kathy, Annelies, me and the toucan off while they searched for druggies and illegal immigrants. Funny, cuz when we got off the bus at the very end, someone really had left a little clear bag of smiley faced pink pills on their seat. They'll be missing those later on.

We waited for the boat to Caye Caulker and haggled over some really overpriced underwater cameras in the little shops. Then we bought some beers and got chatting to Erik and Scotty! The boat turned our hair to knotted frizzballs so when we landed on the island, we hit the showers and the homemade Pina Coladas. Some of us started feeling ill on it, so we started on the rum and coke and ended up on the pier with plastic cups, a bag of ice, rum and barely any coke. That's when I ended up making sand angels with a bunch of hyperactive toddlers. Then we tried to find where the party was happening, and Sam and I raced down the island on the handlebars of Erik and Scott's bikes. I thought I was going to die. And then all we found was a drunken rasta down on the Split with an attitude problem. So we escaped to the I&I bar on the other side of the island, Sammy and I first stole the boys bikes and got halfway there before our consciences hit us and we went back, but we negotiated another ride on the front anyway! The I&I was full of weirdos and swings that break your back, but it was fun!

...share the street, mon!!..

The next day it pissed down so bad that we had to hire bikes and get even wetter to make it worth it. Before that, Sammy and I had a few mud fights in the street, we all went shopping, walked in circles and made videos of flippers and ponchos and rain. Spent the evening eating pasta and swinging in shop hammocks.

The next day we finally went snorkelling! Saw lots of blue fish and stripey fish and ugly fish and pretty fish and little nurse sharks and big spotty rays. Forgot to eat my banana cake (which I brought cuz I knew I'd somehow miss lunch) and had lots of rum punch while helping Annelies to steer the boat into coral. Managed not to use the potty at the front of the boat and celebrated afterwards with a few more beers at the Split. We all went out on our last evening for pizza and beers and I had a wicked night dancing and playing on swings and allsorts...!
