LONDONIA
From Liver and Onions versus the world... in London, United Kingdom on May 17 '08
n: After an emotional farewell with the families, we blew our noses into our hankies and got on the train at Waverley to head to King's Cross. Train journey was fine; ended up stuck next to some pissheads early on though...there's nothing worse than loud, guffawing women yapping on about 'what happens in Newcastle stays in Newcastle'...classy. Anyhoo, the train arrived a wee bit late due to 'animals on the tracks' har har. And the area around King's Cross was dull. Tried having a wee walk to Camden with our backpacks, but didn't find much of interest (possibly because it was a Sunday), so ended up in a Scream pub for some food. They put parmesan on my pasta. I almost vomited, almost, and they changed it for me so that was good!
Dunno how we managed it, but we navigated the underground out to Heathrow without a hitch, saw Bob Geldoff (who looked like a homeless man), and got the 'Hotel Hoppa' bus out to our hotel. Took about half an hour and was 4 quid single. I've just noticed there's no pound sign on this american keyboard. And it keeps wanting me to put z's in my words. BUT I WONT! I WONT DO IT!
Bob Geldoff's a homeless man...
Yeah, so we had our final dinner of pot noodles and crap burger rolls, and fell asleep watching Indiana Jones. Very nice!
j: The train journey down was quite welcome by the time it came around due to my whopping 3 and half hours sleep the night before though- all in good fun! Felt sorry for Neech though because as a result I spent most of the way down dozing (between odd sushi breaks)! Didn't get to see too much of London Town, but the Quality Hotel was beside a quality bit of motorway! It was really nice though- too nice for our gourmet meal of pot noodles on crappy flakey burger buns!
