Moni-Lisa :) has visited no places in Santorini

Well, our ferry to Santorini was just delayed for 1.5 hours so what does that mean? Internet!

Still loving it in Greece. Definitely our favourite place so far and one we will likely miss the most when we leave.. unless Athens turns out to be anything like Naples. :) But we have met enough friendly locals to make it hard for us to leave with a negative impression of this country. Oh, and of course the delicious cheese, pastries, gyros, etc etc help a lot too!

Everything you read on Mykonos talks about its party atmosphere and for the last 2 days, Monica and I were puzzled over all the hoopla. Our first morning, we saw a lot of "older" people wandering the streets in the morning and afternoon. Around dinner time, there still weren't THAT many people around. That first night, we were mosying around until midnight in the town and nada. Pubs, lounges, and clubs were all devoid of people. Next night, we stayed up til about 1:30AM and there was a little more activity but nothing to blow your mind about. Where were all the people?! Last night, we finally realized the problem - Mykonos is a place that wakes up after our bedtime! Everyone hangs out at the various beaches for the whole day (fried human beings abound here) and 4AM is when people start to show up for the night festivities! Sheesh, even the kids were staying up later than Monica and I. Haha, oh well! At least we got to experience it for one night.

Anyway, time to head over to the ferry dock. Bye bye, Mykonos! We saw the most beautiful sunset last night, sitting on a terrace right over the water so it essentially felt like we were in the middle of the ocean. I got splashed AGAIN but it was well worth it! The tangerine, melon-y, fushia colours have been embedded into our memories forever. Can't wait to see the sunsets over the caldera in Santorini!
