Tom Cruise has a home here, they say.  So does Oprah.  The view is spectacular, no matter which way you turn -- even if you are not at Tom's or Oprah's.  I can see why they like it.

Mountain Village is Telluride's very upscale neighbor, as if Telluride itself were not already upscale.  During the winter I went snowshoeing here.  But this time, I visited Mountain Village to take tennis lessons (at the "Golf Club") and to check out the wares at the "Market at Mountain Village" grocery store: 3 types of kefir, an entire end cap of organically-grown nuts, 15 different brands of olive oil, and a pretty good egg-croissant breakfast sandwich.  A small store, but the selection rivalled Trader Joe's.

Drive in from the Rico Road, Route 145 (aka The Million Dollar Highway), or take the free gondola from downtown Telluride.

If it's Wednesday, and summer, there'll be a free concert at 6.  Next week Taj Mahal will be there.  For more shopping and activities, go on down to Telluride.
