Hong Kong!
From Asian Advertising! in Hong Kong, China on Jan 11 '09
Our flight to Hong Kong left at 8, so at 6 am I dragged myself downstairs to meet the shuttles waiting for us. Turns out we were put on Singapore Airlines instead of United, which was definitely a pleasant surprise. It is a much nicer airline; bigger seats, better food, personal entertainment centers at each seat (including the original mario brothers AND Pokemon), and flight attendants dressed up in crazy traditional outfits. Made the 3.5 hour flight to Hong Kong much easier. As soon, as we arrived, however, we had about 2.3 minutes to change and be back downstairs for two more agency visits. yikes. Fleischmann Hillard and Draft FCB here we come. They were both really good presentations and very interesting, but since i was running off literally 1.5 hours of sleep, it was a definitely struggle. Needless to say, I came back to the hotel after a nice dinner of (vegetarian) sushi, and fell asleep by 10 : )
Day Two: 3 more agencies today! Leo Burnett, Initiative, and M&C Saatchi. Once again, all were really interesting; i especially liked the Leo Burnett office. But it was still difficult staying awake through all of them; i think the jet lag is finally starting to catch up with me...
'm exhausted, and slowly becoming immune to red bull. I had 3 today.
My travelling bad luck seems to be catching up with me. Today i slept through an alarm, lost my metro card, and seriously fell or tripped like 10 times. But I at least have a functioning camera : ) After the agencies we went up to Victorias peak to see a fabulous view of the city along with nightly "light show" it puts on. The view was amazing, and I bought several great souveneirs. For dinner we ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp and watched the "show", which actually turned out to be pretty lame. But supposedly we weren't in the best spot for it, so... maybe tomorrow night. I'm exhausted, and slowly becoming immune to red bull. I had 3 today. And was recently informed a book report is tomorrow, which I am now procrastinating from. But hopefully after tomorrow i'll have something more interesting to write about!
