Beautiful. Amazing. Breathtaking. Snow covered. Indescribable so why am I even trying?
Our trip across the Rocky Mountains today was wonderful. John Denver appreciated the beauty and the high of the Rockies. I hope you get a chance to visit them someday!
Elk Burger!
We entered the park on the western side after having our morning break in Winter Park and stopped at the Kawuneeche Visitors Center to begin our voyage. We traveled to the Alpine Visitors Center (elevation over 11,000 feet) for lunch and enjoyed bombing each other with snowballs! I hiked to the top of the lookout (with several stops for air on the way up!) and took some pics at 12,005 feet. We also made several photo stops as we descended on the eastern side of the Rockies towards Estes Park.

We spent the afternoon and the night in Estes Park. When I am describing Estes Park I always say it is a classy Gatlinburg. Reminds me of the way Gatlinburg was when I was much younger. I had an elk burger for lunch/dinner just because I had not had one before at the Wild Rose cafe in downtown Estes Park. Tasted like deer.
Dylan loves the Rockies and Estes Park!
