We thought California was meant to be WARM?!  It rained the entire time we were on the bus!

Ok, so this morning we had loads of toast and followed the route for getting to the Greyhound station.  Was a piece of cake ($1.25 single so cheapness...oh you can get a day pass here for the train/metro/bus for $5 which covers almost ALL OF LA!  This place is huge so good value!).  The bus was $35 for two singles to San D...we got pretzels and a banana for the journey.  We still have the banana...Jodie WILL NOT EAT IT!  And I refuse to eat it 'til he has a bit.  I digress, the journey took about 4 hours as it's bloody memorial weekend which means EVERYONE is off to the coast, and in AMERICA everyone has GIANT CARS and noone uses PUBLIC TRANSPORT so the roads are HEAVING!  But it was a really comfy journey on a Caruco (?) bus!  Arrived in SD and jumped on a number 11 bus from Broadway and Front to Market and 8th...turns out this hostel is walking distance from the bus station so that wee bus journey wasn't really necessary.  And now we're in Lucky D's...the biggest hostel we've ever seen (the second we've been in hehehe) and we're staying in a dorm room (2 bunk beds).  We get free internet which we're abusing RIGHT now, and tomorrow morning we can make free waffles for breakfast.  I don't know how to make waffles, but if it's free and resembles food I don't care!

We still have the banana...Jodie WILL NOT EAT IT!

We're gonna try to head in to Mexico tomorrow, but this place is quite comfortable so we might stay another night.  We shall see!  Off in search of food now, so we'll write in this later and get the photos uploaded whenever we can be arsed.

To our families...please avert your eyes at the sweary words (it's me, nichola, writing them which I'm sure you'll all be surprised about).  Jodie wants to go cook and eat a homeless person now, but we love you all and miss you all and we promise not to die :o)
