The city decks itself out for the famous film festival.  There were tents set up all along the beach and the cafes and clubs were dressed up with shiny modern accessories and velvet lounge furniture.  Celebrity watching at the red carpet is full of hollywood glamour and excitement and just about everyone can claim a glimpse of someone famous.

Cannes looked like it would still be charming after the festival was gone and the city was back to normal.  There was one street in the old town in particular that I would like to go back and visit.  It was a steep cobblestoned street that had cafes and shops lining along its length.  But the street was so narrow and steep the there were just little two person tables perched along the outside of the cafes on big steps.  Hard to describe, but very quaint.
