Naomi had a day of writing, while Andrew took the kids for the afternoon to see the Rhinefalls, first from the West side, then off to the town’s ancient keep, the Munot, where the kids got into playground, then to the East side of the Rhinefall, where you could get so close you could almost reach out and touch it – great noise and great volume of water rushing by at stupendous speed. Walked down many steps to get there. Kids were excited about this side of the falls and it was the highlight of the day.

Rhinefall is the largest waterfall in Europe in terms of volume of water passed. It's only 23m high, but with the full weight of the Rhine running over it, it looks very spectacular. And like Niagara Falls, a whole town (Neuhausen am Rhinefall) has been built around the cottage tourist industry that the Rhinefall has attracted.
