On Tuesday we took a walk to Bjornevik (Bear Inlet), the house built by Lisa's great grandparents and the area from which they took their new name, as was the custom in those days.  Six of their 12 children were born on the island of Adsen (where their last name was Hansen), and six were born at Bjornevik, Lisa's grandfather among them.  Kare, her son, and Tore Bjornevik gave us a lovely tour of the home, which has been preserved as much as possible and to which all the relatives from the 12 branches of family make a pilgrimage as part of each family reunion.

We said tearful goodbyes to Arthur, Elna, and Elsa and then continued on to Torunn's for a light dinner before continuing on to Trondheim.  We lastly made a quick trip to the Afjord Church, where our great grandparents as well as many of their decendents are buried.

Food of the Day:  Torunn made moose soup for us...she owns a large piece of land on which she allows certain people to hunt moose, in exchange for which they give her a part of the meat.  We drank homemade red currant juice and had plum and prune compotes with cream for dessert; followed by coffee, lefse, and waffles with jam for our second dessert.
