About a 40 minute bus ride from Budva is the UNESCO site of Kotor. Kotor sits on a bay that is the worlds southern most Fjord. Kotor has a charming old town with plenty of ice cream to keep me happy for a while. Those of you who know me well, know that I love to climb, anything and everything!!! You can walk up the walls of Kotor to the fortress on top of the mountain. Only 1,350 steps one way in the heat of the day (in the 100s I should think - what ever 40 to 45 degrees Celsius is). But the views made suffering in the heat all worth it. When walking the walls, you come to a sign indicating that the USA funded the restoration of the walls. Underneath, someone wrote, "Fuck the USA Fascists." While there will always be people who dislike the USA, I take this as another sign of how we are currently viewed in the world. Lets hope for political change soon, so we can return to civility and diplomacy and rebuild our reputation in the world. Ironically, in the news today, the $ hit an all time low against the Euro. So not only do they think we suck, the dollar is also only worth using as toilet paper over here. So, that 4 Euro bottle of water is probably now $5.50. Yikes. Another off topic note that I find interesting, but probably no one else will, is that they have really cool tow trucks here. The tow trucks have a crane on them, and they lift the cars up and lower them onto the flat of the tow truck. It is really cool to watch.

Working those Crepes off, one step at a time!!
