Our first few days of the adventure tour included traveling from PP/Sosua to Cabarete, DR.  It was a complete culture shock going from poor villages, no electric etc to hotel stayings where people spoke english!

I really enjoyed Cabarete because it was a beach city in the DR, lounges/bars right on the beach, and many eclectic shops along the beach as well!  We met our tour guide, Adolfo, a native dominican guy whom is soo crazy and so amazing-we all trusted him immensly!

Our first adventure was the one i was most terrified of! It was called canyoning, but what exactly was it? well, we trudged through a river in our wetsuits and helmets...when there was a drop/fall in the river, we jumped it!  The larger ones we needed to repel down, which was terrifying because you were walking down a waterfall! I hate heights..but i had fun too, i fell and bashed a few of my fingers, but the guides came to my rescue and hoisted me down the rest of the way safely! Phew!  After that we kept going through the river...walking, swimming, jumping... Finally, the end came and we needed to hike/rock clib back up to the top.  It was surely an adventure I will never forget! I still have the scars...haha!

Our second day and adventure was Surfing!  We rode in pickup trucks to the surf schools, got some gear, and had lessons on the land.  Then, they took us out to the water!  it was scary, but so much fun! It was very tough, I never fully managed to get up all the way, but we had such a blast trying to surf. The instructors made it so much fun too!

Our next adventures took place right across the streeet from our hotel.  We learned how to windsurf! Now, that was fun! I found it easier than surfing, but yah...It wasn't too windy though, so it took awhile to get going and if you couldn't 'surf' back in, you had to lay on it and swim back in to shore!  That was only a 1/2 day thing, so the afternoon we took taxis back to sosua and went snorkeling.  As it turns out, we snorkeled right on the beach we actually swam on earlier on during our trip!!
