We managed to catch a bus on a Greek public holiday to Delphi. The centre of the ancient world. Zeus let two doves go in opposite directions, they met at Delphi and so was known as the centre of the ancient world. It is also where the oracle lived. Alexander the Great even went to pay tribute and ask for the guidance of the oracle and the vestal virgins.

Delphi is part of a huge mountain area that is absolutely stunning. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay in the mountains. Delphi has just over 2,000 inhabitants and they all seem to be friendly especially to the last tourists of the season.

The mountain towns are defiantly different from the other areas in Greece we  went to. They cling to the ranges and are bigger.

We saw the ancient Olympic training grounds with hot spring baths they used, discus area, sprinting tracks as well as the largest intact theatre and stadium.

This is definitely a spiritual place and lovely place to go and take your time.
