It only took about 3 days to adjust to the city and life in Spain. Although I have a lot more to learn, I like it a lot. The only thing frustrating is how EVERYTHING closes by 2pm for the siesta, reopens for maybe a few hours in the evening and closes again. So, if you want to eat anything during the day it is imperative to get somewhere to eat asap or you may miss eating until 9:30 or later at night. Also, to go to the bank you have to go between 8am and 2pm, which can be difficult if you have class from 9 to 1:30. And if you plan on eating a quick lunch (la comida) then go right away at the beginning of la siesta because you can easily eat lunch from 2:30 until 5:30 without even knowing it! Other than that, its amazing. I have met a lot of people from various countries who all speak English as well as their native country and Spanish... I feel very uneducated coming from the US. Although they are all very nice. Some of the girls I have met, other students from DU and I go out every night to some sort of bar downtown for something small to eat and wine or sangria. We are out at least until 1 because its impossible to go anywhere earlier than 10 or 1030. You would never know its that late though since everything is open and packed.

Every Tuesday there is a fiesta at the second UIMP Campus (the school I am at) on the peninsula de Magdalena. It is held within the courtyard of the castle there or on the beach. I went yesterday for the first time only for a little since we originally were not going to go, and it was hilarious. There are tons of students and even professors there dancing to mostly music from the states, all in English, and drinking. Plus most of the guys are from either Spain or Italy, so they are all suave and trying to pick up the girls. Plus, everyone has their own accent and when you hear them rap along with Eminem- Slim Shady- or sing with Will Smith -Wild Wild West- you die. I could not believe it. It was very fun.

Although I have not made it to the beach yet it will be coming soon. As well as more trips outside of the city :)
