Well we have left Kyote for more adventures in this wonderful country. It is amazing how we keep meeting wonderful people. Yesterday we went to the Noji Castle in Kyoto which was great.  Noji castle is known for it's "Nightengale floors. The floors were built to creak on purpose for security purposes. After this we went to Nara.  In Nara we saw the worlds largest Buddha.  Nara is also famous for the deer that wonder in public and eat cookies out of the hands in public and eat cookies out of the hands of visitors. It was a nice day on our own. Today we hopped on the bullet train, leaving Kyoto behind. It is amazing how fast the train goes. With our Japan Rail Pass we can take the fast, expensive train without paying anything more than what we payed for the pass. Anyone coming to Japan should get the pass. Uh, Jess just told me that Gov Doyle enacted a state of emergency for the floods In wisconsin. We are watching a video on Utube of the thunderstorm on the 13 of Aug. Wow guys, stay dry if you are in Wi. I apologize if there are typos or weired gaps in this because the keyboards are different here. Anyway we saw an awesome castle today and we are staying in Kurashiki. We arrive around 5pm and wondered around to find something to eat. As we walked down a small street, we smelled something amazing. We also heard a semi rare sound, english. There were three people outside of a restaurant. It was a family from LA. They said the place we were outside of was supposed to be a very good place to eat. We all decided to go in and have dinner. It was a great little place. Good food and a cool atmosphere. There were two Japanese men sitting near by and we the menu was in Japanese so Jess and I asked them for help. They helped us order our food. Soon enought these two gentlemen were ordering courses and drinks for us. Jess and I, GlenN and his wife And their daughter Juli, and these gentlemen all had a great time for dinner. As it turned out one of the men was the president of a fancy hotel nearby, I will try to find a link to the hotel but I cant find one right now、He ended up buy all of us dinner and wanted us to come to the hotel for drinks. Well, hard to say no when they had been so generous. We went for drinks and had a great time. They invited us all to breakfast tomorrow as well. I can not beleive the generostiy of strangers in this country. I am writing this in the lobby of our hotel and Should probably wrap up. Take care everyone, good luck with the weather wisconsin. Thanks again for the comments. We are off to Hiroshima tomorrow to experience the A bomb memorial, then we will go south to get some fresh air in the countryside.

Restaurant we ate with wonderful people we met in Kurashiki. The white strips of fabric hanging from the ceiling is the menu?!?!?

You two are so fortunate to meet such wonderful people. It is hard to believe the graciousness and generosity of the Japenese people. We could all learn such lessons. The architecture there is beautiful, beyond words. The garden looks so tranquil it eases the mind just looking at the picture. Thank you for all your words and pictures. I enjoy them soooo much. Some here are building arks as more rain is coming for the next couple days but we will survive. Relax and delight in everything they have to offer there. Lots of Love, Mom W

Hello. How about Miyama-cho today(2007/8/26)? Was the thatched house able to look? This house is a Japanese recycling house to make with a P.communis and Oryza . Please enjoy Japanese culture.
