On the Monday we went on the Neighbours tour, all ten of us, the original four, me (Clare who has joined them), Melvyn, George’s uncle and his wife Mary and his kids Marilyn and Antony and Marilyn’s boyfriend, Dave. We caught the authentic Neighbours minibus a couple of blocks down from the hostel and we could tell that the tour was going to be good as it had the Erinsborourgh High School sign in the back.
After picking up some other fellow Neighbours lovers we drove to the shop were you could buy souvenirs, George being the loser he is bought a t-shirt. A random bald headed man got on to the minibus as we were sitting on there and the tour leader obviously knew who he was as she got all excited and started saying look who it was. Apparently he used to be in Neighbours as the Timmons family dad but as most of us hadn’t watched Neighbours for a couple of years we had no idea, anyway he autographed some things for us and away we went.

We watched a couple of old programs, one where Beth (Natalie Imbruglia) and Brad got married and the other when Jim Robinson died (for the first time before moving to the O.C.), Before arriving at Erinsborourgh High its self (or it was once the tour guide had fixed the sign to the fence). From what I remember the school looked nothing like I remember but we had our photo’s taken and then back on the bus to the film centre. We weren’t aloud inside but we saw Grease Monkeys and Carpenter’s Mechanics and then onto Ramsey Street.

It looked a lot smaller in real life. We had our photos taken in front of the house’s and with the famous Ramsey Street sign and the tour guide let us into some gossip about what’s going to happen in the future before going back to the hostel for the main event that evening of meeting some of the stars. Libby Kennedy started off the night by signing some songs before every one getting there photo taken with Libby, Karl Kennedy and Izzy. Paul and Adam even went a queued up another time they said as the first photo was rubbish but we all know its so Paul could touch Izzy again and Adam with Libby.

Karl’s band, The Waiting Room, then played and they were amazing, I managed to get right to the front so that Karl touched my hand while signing . They sung a mixture of songs, old and new, but I would recommend going to see them, I understand now why George was almost wetting himself about seeing them again. Good times had by all.
(P.S If you really want to know how good they were, click here to watch The Waiting Room perform Chelsea Dagger!!)
